Fun days Summer 2014

This year instead of having a family holiday we are having a number of daytrips this summer. I've planned a special day with each of my kids where they get the undivided attention of a parent doing something exciting.

Bethea

I'm talking about Bethea's one first just because it was first. We went to Jungle Parc in Llydiard park in Swindon followed by lunch and a trip to the cinema to whatch Despicable Me 2. We had a fantastic day, Bethea loved the climbing trees, unfortunately due to her age i was not able to join her. Our intrepid little girl went pretty high too. Some of the bits looked pretty exposed, 20' up in the air (she was obviously tied in).

John

I took John to Diggerland, he loved it. We got to ride, drive or operate all sorts of diggers. We both had a great time

We had other days out too, Legoland Windsor was good and the family also went to Soul Survivor. Good times. Roll on the extension.

Old friends (March 30^th, 2014)

Chatting with some old friends last night over a curry and the subject of Open Blue came up and they said they had some pictures. Well here are some from the days of refitting the bus.

Open Blue is a charity which exists to serve whole communities by being a community centre on wheels. Lots of the communities around here don't have any facilities and no-where to meet. Andy and his team bring their converted double decker bus to these places and run various activities including cooking classes, after school clubs and cafes.

Back in 2003 just after we moved to Chippenham we got involved in this project. I had a couple of weeks before starting my job and i worked for much of that time refitting the bus. It was hard work but the team was great and the work of Open Blue has been amazing since. So here are the photos - my goodness we look young
